:(I have just learned that our friend Bea has had a heart attack. :)Fortunately she is recovering and resting comfortably. She is in Brisbane Hospital and they are now doing tests to hopefully find out what contributed to the attack. Your prayers would be appreciated, I'm sure.

Bea is doing very well and may be home in the next few days. One of her friends says she is in very good spirits and has no pain. Just so you know, I'm getting this information from another forum where Bea is also a moderator. The hospital she is in is Price Charles Hospital in Brisbane (sorry for the error). They did an angiogram yesterday. Sounds like good news to me. We love you Bea

I haven't been keeping up with Bea's progress very well, but I did just find out that she is home as of June 24. It turned out that she did not have a heart attack after all, but that she has some blood clots. So she will be on a blood thinner for 6 months. She says she's doing very well and is just glad to be home. So, welcome home Bea.

Hi guys, sorry it has taken my so long to check on on this post. I suddenly blacked out on Tuesday 13th of June and was taken to our local hospital at Caboolture - which fortunately had just reopened its emergency ward after a long battle with the state government over the need for it. After blood tests it was decided that I had probably had a heart attack although I had had no pain at all and I was kept in their CCU until Thursday when I was transferred to Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane (this is a really good heart hospital). I stayed there until the next Thursday and was given a host of tests - including an angiogram on the 16th. I told them all that this was not how I had expected to spend my 33rd wedding anniversary. I have to tell you all that although I do not recommend you volunteer for an angiogram it certainly is an interesting experience and I listened quite happily to Beethoven throughout and no-one at any stage said oooops. There was no sign of any coronary heart disease so they decided to do further tests. A CT scan, two echoes of the heart - one of which including them blowing frothy salt water through the heart and two ultrasounds. At the end of all this they found one clot on my lung and a couple in the spleen but absolutely no evidence of a heart attack. So from taking three or four tablets in the morning and two or three in the evening I was discharged with warfarin as the only medication. The warfarin is probably short term three or six months but at the moment the emphasis is on getting the medication balanced which has meant two or three blodd tests every week. I feel fine at the moment but of course no-one knows what caused the bloodclot. Having a "I won't ever touch a computer" husband it was a little difficult getting the news out and it included him phoning a cyberfriend of mine down in Melbourne who then passed on the messages. Of course, the gruntz group is an elite one and there were very few people that my art group know that also play gruntz. My apologies for not getting to you earlier. It was actually very touching as my friend from Melbourne was ringing me every day in hospital to let me know of all the messages that had been left for me. Anyway, I am up and about and feel fine

Good to hear from you Bea. I'm so glad you're home and doing well. I hope you had something good to read in the hospital.

Thanks everyone I am just really glad to be home Michial found himself going to the library every couple of days to get me books to keep me going The worst for him was when I told him to come back and fetch me when he had just arrived home (its about a 40 minute drive to the hospital)
