I'm thinking of buying a new game. I read that FEAR won the best new horror game for 2007. I like scary games and am wondering if anyone here has played it and what you thought? And if you have some alternate scary game you liked, please let me know and tell me a little about it.
On a second note; What are some of your favorite games (not counting gruntz cuz we all love it). Herez some of mine:
1. RPGz (of all kinds but really love the spookies or horror) 2. Adventure 3. Comic games 4.Chess or Mahjongg games 5. Detective (in any age. mayan, wild west, future, past, present) 6. Fantasy (nearly all the Sierra games) 7. puzzle games of all kinds Don't like:
Arcade style, shoot their brains out, tetris style games w/marbles or whatever are used fill up the spaces. blah Find the hidden object (boring) violent games, be they racing, shootings, kill kill kill. (rather read a dictionary)

I enjoy any game that is not brain-dead. Meaning its the same thing over and over and no brain-power is needed for it. I like games that are a challenge, get your adrenaline pumping (1st person ahooters, racing, click and command or RPGs) or relaxing games (puzzles and comic games.
One of the biggest drawbacks for me in any game is if it has no interesting mind-stimulating plot or story.

oh yeah, almost forgot - yes I've played FEAR, it really has some scary trickz. But don't quote me on anything cos I've only played it for so long. Other scary games? - Try Doom, I haven't played it but it's what everyone tells me scares the out of them.

Doom? Doom is like a cartoon game. But it's not easy, requires a lot of experience. If you're talking about Doom 3, then yeah, it's way scary. How would you feel if you were in a Mars base taken over by zombiez, in a darkness like hell, and when you stand in front of a certain mirror and look at yourself there, the screen becomes all dark red (blood like) for a second and you're hit in the back by something noisy - the Doom 3 version of the Imp. The game is perfect except for how it scares the player... I might play it again though.

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Think I'll start with 'Fear'. Aren't the doom games played with small characters? I can't see them very well cuz of cataracts.
Thank you. And a special Thank You and Love to Bonnie and Gaby. They know why.

Then try the first Doom games (Doom 1, 2, Plutonia and TNT)... Doom 3 is extra dark...
