Hello everyone, I am really happy that the Gruntz community still exist. The game is amazing when I had played it in my childhood. I would like to relive the experiance once again. Is there any place where I could download the Game from?

Not in a legal way, as far as I can tell. But since it's no longer to be found in the shops(?), and so many years has passed since the release of the game, it's pretty much suitable for being considered to be abandonware, at least for me. Or am I wrong?

As far as I remember you can't even buy the game through the monolith site anymore, so it's practically abandonware. You can find the demo somewhere around this forum though.

I have two original copiez of Gruntz, and a couple of back-up copiez that I made (yes, I'm paranoid about losing the ability to play Gruntz ). If it could ever be determined that Gruntz is truly 'abandonware', I would be willing to provide Gruntz V1.0 on a LightScribe CD-ROM at cost (rounded up to the next even dollar in United States of American fundz). But I will not do so if I do not have verification that there would be no legal action taken, if I did so. Since I have not been able to receive any reply from anyone at Monolith Productions, Inc., I doubt that such verification will ever be forthcoming. Please see Gruntz Extraz CD-ROM for additional discussion about Gruntz.

I'm not sure if they still have it, but you used to be able to get Gruntz on RealArcade. Couldn't hurt to check it out.

If Gruntz is declared abandonware, is there any chance to be able to get the source code?

If Gruntz is declared abandonware, is there any chance to be able to get the source code? Highly unlikely, since the game engine was used (and may still be used!) in so many other Monolith-distributed gamez.

Highly unlikely, since the game engine was used (and may still be used!) in so many other Monolith-distributed gamez. Gruntz is definitely 2D game based on sprites. Does Monolith create 2D games nowadays? I don't think so. IMO if the game was abandoned by the developers, so was the source code and that might complicate things a little.
