You know you need two Gruntz to progress, so there has to be a way for the Straw Grunt to return from that island. Perhaps you could give him the Toob there somehow... you don't have to battle the Tool Thief 'on the spot', it may be a better idea to lead him somewhere else! I know that I can send both Gauntletz and Goober Straw across the Crumbling Bridge toward the east ... but getting the enemy Tool Thief to follow me would be a problem. Also, when you do reach the Silver Switch with two Gruntz, the environment can easily lead you into thinking you have to send both Gruntz at once, since there's a Rolling Rock to race. But the timing is intentionally very tight if this is done, so double check if you really need to do it this way, or just send one at a time When I had only one Grunt, I sent him (alone, of course!) through the Silver Pyramidz ... too late to reach the Green Hold Switch. I cheated from there to try to determine what needed to happen next, and died several timez against the GunHat and Welder. Then went back to try to do thingz differently.

Well, you shouldn't get Gauntletz across the crumbling bridge... you should just pick up Toobz first. Only Goober should go across the bridge. Then Toobz attracts the Thief to the water and leads him to the island so you can take him on, 2 on 1. This means you'll reach the Silver Pyramid area with two Gruntz, which changes the situation entirely... you can just send a Grunt first without actually triggering the Rolling Ball.

I got past the silver pyramids and all the purple enemy sword gruntz. There was a PHS near the enemy yellow bootz before the silver pyramids. There is nobody standing on it; does it come into play later? Also I passed a enemy pink spring; here i just get the coin and progress, right?
Now I have reached area with 3 rolling balls. I timed the RBs in such a way that they killed the 3 enemy sword gruntz; is that correct?

There's no need to kill the Spring enemy but if you don't want to lose health you can just hit him as he's moving from one tile to another, so that you kill him without taking a hit. The 3 rolling ballz are not easy to time properly at all, so gratz for passing that part!

I have reached area with 3 GHS, 2blue gloves and I have shovelz. If I release the blue glove behind icicles; it is possible he frees 2 toys.So I have to grab the toy and make him follow me till he is on a GHS. Which GHS should he go to first - a little hint please. Also the timing for the 3 sword gruntz is very tight and very tough to have them stand on their respective PHS -i need a toy tomake the left one stop but don't have any.

Ok, well, you need two Gruntz here, so you'll have to use that Straw checkpoint to open the path for your Spy. You'll need to make full use of the Spy, not only by revealing the Brickz but also using its extra speed to easily lure the enemy Gauntletz - particularly the crystal one - to break everything you want him to (as you said, there are two toyz).
The two Gauntletz should be turned into goo as should the enemy Gunhat. As for the Swordz, this is another one you'll need the Spy's speed to have no trouble getting out. You should be able to lay down the toy while the enemy is moving into the odd switch, so that he will pick it up there. Then just keep yourself on the right side (I think that's how it was done) so that both Swordz go to their switchez. The timing is a bit tricky indeed as you have to move your other Grunt out of the switch for you to escape unharmed - perhaps using the number assignment would help here.
The GHS should be operated by your second Grunt, that's probably why you were having trouble here.

I managed the area with GHSand wingz. I have 3 gruntz in area with RHS and need to reach the green switch but I do not have wingz to get across.

I hope you picked up that Go-Kart with your third Grunt back in the area where he was created, because that's the key to refreshing your Wingz' charge!

How does a grunt use a toy to refresh wings? I believe it was an unintended 'feature' that when a WIngz Grunt played with a toy, his Wingz were refreshed.

Yeah, you have to give a toy to your Wingz Grunt. This can be achieved by selecting the toy and attempting to put it in a tile, and before it's reached moving the Wingz Grunt to the same position. So then he'll receive the toy directly instead of a toybox being laid down.
