Recently i have been talking to the admin (Gooroo) to bring this game to Steam Community, as hes been busy with other work and no other admins have been recently spotted alive on Forum, so he asked me post about it and see if members recommend it or not.
*What is Steam??? store.steampowered.com/about/
*Can anyone use Steam??? Yup the installation is free, where as you just need to purchase the game from Steam Store or you can start with "Free To Play" Games.
*Why shall we bring this game on Steam?? I myself have played this game when i was like 7-8years kid, still i think this game has enough potential to rock n roll the floor with Multiplayer Functionality, And steam is a really good source to do so. (And being a gamer we know what we need is multiplayer, fun, and this game Comeback could be Huge)
*So how do we get started?? First of all we need to Greenlight this game on Steam, once the developers/staff team sets up the files/or just confirm as per the need of Steam.
*What is Steam Greenlight? (please read it so you understand everything with no much confusions left) steamcommunity.com/workshop/about/?appid=765§ion=faq

Please Guys Guest Or Members, Please Submit A Feedback About What You Think. I know the way i have created this thread is bad and might not be clean/clear to all, so just submit what you need to know i will reply.

I would of course love it if the game was available on Steam, but this brings up a few important questions: 1. In order to be there, it needs to be possible to be bought through the website. The question is, who could offer it for sale? Monolith surely wouldn't, and are we legally allowed to do so? Even if the game is set up as "Free To Play", it still needs to be officially "provided" by someone to be there... 2. How are we going to deal with the technical compatibility issues? 3. What about the legal problems? I can remember Friedslick mentioning that we would have to throw out the cutscenes from the game due to them still using some company's copyright or something. Granted, if we can somehow deal with all those problems, then I'm all for it.

The important thing here is that from what I understood from what Friedslick said, Monolith's copyrights have expired, and only the cutscenes are still covered by copyright.
Even then, I think someone knowledgeable on the subject would have to clear up whether it would be possible to get it up on Steam, copyright-wise.

A few years ago, I corresponded with someone at Monolith Productions, Inc. about Gruntz, and was rewarded with a CD-ROM containing the movies, and was advised I could distribute the movies for a slight fee ... which turned out to be one United States dollar per sale. When I actually acquired $5 in sales, I e-mailed to get a "Snail Mail" address so I could send in the check. That original e-mail account was closed, and I have been unable to contact anyone at MPI since. That is sad, since the last I knew, MPI was located less than 50 miles away from me! There is a certain population of gamers who seem to think that Gruntz is 'abandonware', making it possible to distribute the game ... at least on a 'cost' basis (making no profit from the sale).
As far as the "cut scenes" (whatever they are) and any copyright status, I have no idea what the legal entanglements may be. Perhaps, if RealArcade is still in business, they may be able to provide some information, since they, at one time, distributed the full game (without CD-ROM) at what I can only feel is a full retail price ... implying some sort of licensing agreement.
I am fully prepared to provide the contents of the original CD-ROM (via back-up copy procedures) at my cost, to further garnering more Gruntz players. As to extending that to "Steam" or any such web business, I am not ready to do that. (They may be interested in making a profit from such sale, which I could not condone.)

Gruntz is already "free to play" ... with the Gruntz CD-ROM (or equivalent), and from this web site (Forum) there are well over 500 additional puzzles that anyone may download (free) and play. Furthermore, anyone may submit their e-mail address to be added to my "Gruntz Fans" address book, so that whenever a new Gruntz Custom Level is sent to me, they will receive it as an e-mail attachment! No need to even download it!

Honestly, if someone made the game freeware, who's gonna sue them?
Monolith doesn't even care about the game anymore, so I doubt they would care if it was made free.

I recommend getting the game from another source, as the probability of it appearing on Steam is pretty much zero.
