Owell, just knock me out of this game. That's the ONLY word I could figure out was anywhere close to yours. If your letter is a G, my dictionary (MSN Online Dictionary) didn't have it in it's file.

I don't think you can't participate any more, just that we should try to submit a word that follows the rules. If you all want to start over, one addition could be to come up with less obvious definitions, or even ones that are hard instead of obvious ones. By the way, here's how I thought the game proceded so far: wave wove dove dote mote mite miter mater water wafer safer saner sane would be merely changing saner to sane.

I couldn't find a word that would come next, so I think you could "helped someone out" if nobody else knows. If we really want to stretch, we can go with - _ _ _ _ "A city of Manasseh given to the Levites of Kohath's family (1 Chr. 6:70).", though I don't think this is any better than IdleAl's word.

By the way, here's how I thought the game proceded so far: wave wove dove dote mote mite miter mater water wafer safer saner sane would be merely changing saner to sane. On the other hand, sa ger (which I believe is Teri's intended word) gives way to my previous (erroneous) word: _ager: something risked on an uncertain event Which leaves room for such things as: to engage in, or carry on warand then: wit, joker and oodles of possibilities thereafter.

_ _ _ _ _ "A type of beer of German origin that contains a relatively small amount of hops and is aged from six weeks to six months to allow sedimentation"
I am assuming I am doing this instead of "wager", and this means I won't be changing the same letter twice in a row.
