I have an idea for a new "Stargate" in the Rocky Roadz level. I want to use OU/OD switches for the dialer and although I know how they're supposed to work, getting them to work the way I want is another matter entirely. So It may be a while before you see this one. In the meantime, you could all pray that I will be filled with mathematical wisdom. (Still working on those switches! If anyone has any good advice about working with orange up/down switches, it would be greatly appreciated.) I got tired of working on the switches, so although they're still ou/od switches, they're pretty easy. It's close to being finished.

This is ready for testing. Will send it to GooRoo when that's done.

This is ready for testing. Will send it to GooRoo when that's done. I have about seven hourz today for Gruntzy thingz, so may make a dent in the backlog of taskz for this Forum. If noone stepz forward to do the testing before I post that I am caught up, I will volunteer to be a BETA tester.

The OU/DS are pretty simple really. The Rects (Rectz? ) box of the switchez needz to contain the IDz all the other OU/DS. Then the pyramidz only contain the ID of their own switch.

Thanks, GooRoo, I've already sent it to Gaby but one more tester won't hurt. Check your e-mail. Have all the other new levels been tested yet? I'm anxious to see some of them distributed. I think Gaby's HotHeart is ready. I tested that this morning. It was fun.

I was thanking GooRoo for the offer of testing my level. I thank you also for the advice, but I was already aware how the orange switches work. I was hoping to make a complicated combination to use as a "dialer" on the Stargate. I found it difficult.

I made it to the kings fort, but I had to cheat at the end : I didn't step on one blue switch (or stepped twice maybe ?). It's very hard to be sure to step only once (or odd time) on each ones (I always forget when I have to reload what was done before saving !) I also miss three coins at the end, and I can't see where the should be (I looked everywhere on the map, filled and dug all holes, waved shovel and gauntlets everywhere, but didn't see anything) It's a good level, oldone, but quit long to restart for one little mistake at the beginning IMO

I also had problems keeping track of the blue switches. I found it much easier to count the number I needed in the beginning. Then as I went through, I made sure I had the proper # of tiles up for each section. I also did a separate save at the end of each section before leaving the area. That way when I missed one, hopefully not, I only had to go back to the end of the section I missed.
The coins are all there, but it's a very weedy, reedy planet. You really have to look for some of them.
I really didn't intend to make things frustrating (as you probably know from my other levels) but just once, I figured a little difficulty and frustation wasn't such a bad thing. And it's not like it's hard. . . you just have to keep track of things.

Thanks for your advice, oldone. I will try it again, later on... For the coins, I counted again and I found 55 : the three missing must have been some bugs : it happens sometime that I get a coin, but the program doesn't count it

I'm not so sure Gaby : as I said in IceGruntzing thread, I remember some posts on the old forum saying that some coins should not be counted by the program, but I can't clearly remember in which circumstances

"it can't be happaning"... all the coinz are counted if you get them... If a Coin is placed on a toggling bridge tile, the solver will fail to have the Coin counted more often than it is counted, particularly if the 'safe' time of the tile is short (less than 1 second). The Grunt has to have time to say "Oh yeah!" (or some such) for the Coin to count. If the Toob Grunt plopz back into the water before his joyous exclamation, the Coin is not counted.

Thanks for the precision, GooRoo, I will try it again listening carefully for each "Oh yeah !"

No coins are on toggling bridges, so you shouldn't have any problems. There are some on crumble bridge tiles though, but I didn't have any trouble with them.
