I now have all 100 Secretz inventoried, with one that will need to be changed, to do something useful towardz the solution of the CL. So tomorrow (Sunday) will be spent in conjuring up something suitable, adding GlobalAmbientSoundz and Voicez ... and perhapz some EyeCandy. Then it goez to the BETA tester for final evaluation. My thoughtz for the entire seriez: - Rocky Roadz ... SuicideBomber (grunt #1) is the primary character
- Gruntziclez ... Boomerang (grunt #2) is the primary character
- Trouble In The Tropicz ... Bricklayer (grunt #3) is the primary character
- High On Sweetz ... Shovel (grunt #4) is the primary character (aka 'Digger')
- High Rollerz ... Gauntletz (grunt #5) is the primary character
- Honey, I Shrunk The Gruntz ... Boxing Glovez (grunt #6) is the primary character
- Miniature Masterz ... GooberStraw (grunt #7) is the primary character
- Gruntz In Space ... Gravity Bootz (grunt #8) is the primary character
Except for Gruntziclez, the Tool the lead character is carrying makez it fairly obvious what most of the mini-puzzlez will be like. In Gruntziclez, doing battle with enemy Gruntz will be the main focus ... and that (IMHO) is a tough designing chore. - Anyone may participate in designing puzzlez in this seriez ... I have no 'patent' on the idea.
- It would be nice if anyone choosing to get involved would agree to the pattern I laid out, above.
- The one thing that I really want to see in these puzzlez is that the 9X9 Sudoku puzzle is accurate, and rather difficult to solve, in itself.
- The 'given' squarez should also be 'safe' Tilez for any Grunt to step on, with at least one CheckPoint Switch in each box of 9 (but no more than four in a box) ... or any exceptionz described by the Designer in the original post describing the puzzle.
- Only one box may be reached by the original 9 Gruntz, until the mini-puzzlez associated with that box have been satisfied ... then the next box is 'opened', and reached only via wormholez.
- Entrance into any box is to the exact same square for all 9 Gruntz.
- No Green Wormholez!!!
- No newly-baked Gruntz may ever enter the Sudoku puzzle area.
- 9 to 15 'Survivorz' and (preferably) no 'Deathz'.
- The 'lead' character may change Toolz, but only within mini-puzzlez ... must regain the original Tool before returning via the Red Warp.
- The 'lead' character getz the Warpstone, and givez it to the King.

I could try designing levelz for both Gruntziclez (I am good at battlez ) and Trouble in the Tropicz.

How far are you in to beta testing? Hopefully you are almost done. I'm REALLY excited about this level.

I kept making dumb mistakez that required me to either go back a long way (in human time) or re-start from the beginning in today's testz ... so took advantage of good weather and did yard work instead of Gruntzy thingz. So it will be around 11:00AM Pacific Daylight Savings Time when I resume testing. When my own (Alpha) testing satisfiez me, I will go ahead and distribute it without BETA testing feedback. Hopefully, that distribution will take place in the very early afternoon Wednesday.

I sent this CL out a few minutez ago to Gruntz Fanz groupz 1, 2 and 4 with no error message returned to me. But when I tried to send it to group 3, I was 'rewarded' with the "outgoing message limit exceeded" message. So group #3 will receive it tomorrow. You should find not only the puzzle, but the "Statz.jpg" screen grab showing that a " PERFECT!" score is possible.

I'm plain confused. What are you suppost to do at the beginning? Where is the sudoku puzzle you're suppost to solve?

Oh boy! This level is at least frustrating! Just like MineSweeper, if you click the wrong spot, you're dead! When I sent my Gruntz through the Blue Wormholez on the first area, only one survived! I'll try to play this level tomorrow or later tonight.

Better not send them all at once. The tar pit providez a very useful hint.

I'm plain confused. What are you suppost to do at the beginning? Where is the sudoku puzzle you're suppost to solve? When you find a way to get your nine Gruntz "out of the starting gate", they will be teleported into the Sudoku puzzle (northeast corner of the map). P.S. I did mention that it would be a good idea to scroll around the entire map, didn't I?

Obviously, you haven't tried everything, or you would have lowered the CheckPoint Pyramid blocking access to the Blue Wormhole. This is graphicz set #1, so Grunt #1 (SuicideBomber) is the key 'player' in the puzzle. What can he do that no other Grunt is able to do?

Well I got out OK but now I feel like a lion who just bagged an elephant. Where do I start eating this bad boy. After the first few gruntz go through the blue warp, I get a little confused about who goes next. Can they all go through and then through their red warps and stay there while the others come through the blue warp?? Or do they need to come back from the red warp before another one goes through theirs? Do you understand what I'm asking?

If you see BattlezM'z[/color] hint above on his last post you'll know the order. Walkthroughz to levelz like this one will take quite a lot of time... probably.

Solving the Sudoku puzzle will answer many questionz ... which are mainly "which Grunt triggerz which Red Warp and goez through it?". Do not be in a big rush to return through the Red Warpz ... there may be something else for a Grunt to do that will aid other Gruntz in their taskz. There are timez when a Grunt will not re-join the otherz in a 3X3 box before the CheckPoint Switchez are satisfied to open up the next box. (Something in the next 3X3 box enablez the Grunt to return through his own Red Warp). And remember that the return Red Warp will deposit the Grunt exactly where he entered in order to reach his task area ... don't allow another Grunt to dilly-dally on someone else's Tile. Remember, these Gruntz are working as a team, frequently in pairz, to get one Grunt to the Warpstone. The map showz the final path (from the original 'Assembly Area') to the King's Fortress. That path has many obstaclez (most of them Green) that need to be removed. And the Grunt that will get the Warpstone has to be able to return almost exactly back to where he started out in the Assembly Area in order to follow that final path. P.S. I have an HTML walkthrough with all of the componentz (except(!) the actual walkthrough) done. I only have the first 3X3 box walkthrough complete, and a very small part of the last 3X3 box done. I want to get the web hosting problem resolved next week, so that walkthroughz such as this one may be properly accessed via linkz in their respective threadz. (Click on the walkthrough image to open the 'Index' to the walkthrough, and only view the portion(z) that you really need to see ... and not have the entire walkthrough forced upon you all at once.)
