While awaiting feedback from the several walkthroughz I have done recently, I am now beginning the walkthrough for "Uphill Battle". That meanz solving it for myself (CRS is a curse ) so that I may write it properly. I will create and upload a 'skeleton' walkthrough and when it is reasonably complete link it as an ALPHA walkthrough. This one will probably take about a week to complete, if my schedule remainz as it is today.

In playing through "Uphill Battle" to refresh my memory for writing the walkthrough, I discovered that there is a (potentially) fatal timing error ... and it was fatal in my first attempt. Very frustrating when you make it all the way through to the King's Fortress with the Warpstone, only to find it impossible to (legally) finish the game! One SecretTileTrigger came up millisecondz too late, dumping the Rolling SnowBall into the water before it made it to the Green Toggle Switch to lower the Green Pyramidz, denying access to the Warpstone CheckPointSwitch. Perhaps those of you who said they completed this CL were very fortunate in your timing, or (very likely, from the experience I just had) you resorted to "mpilovethisgame" and dropped a Grunt that activated that GTS, allowing you to finish. I changed the timing of that one SecretTileTrigger and tested it (by cheating, of course!) and it now does what I intended it to do in the first place. I am now going to re-play the CL from the beginning (revised version) as part of the walkthrough writing process. If everything workz properly in normal play timing, I will be re-uploading "Uphill Battle" to my web host along with the walkthrough. When you see the walkthrough link, and the gooroosgruntz.info/images/Thumbs Up.gif[/img] in the original post in this thread, you are encouraged to download the new version, and re-play the CL without cheating.

It seems that I was fortunate in my timing ... because I had no problem there...

I have completed the CL to a "Perfect!" score without the need to cheat. I am adding my Statz page as a link to the original post in this thread. I am currently working on the HTML Coinz element, recording where each of the 120 Coinz(!) may be found. I have the Toolz element complete, showing the order I used for all 18 Toolz plus the Warpstone. I have two of the nine Secretz done. Maybe by Saturday I will have the walkthrough linked, and the corrected version of the CL available.

and that will leave you two more CLz (not counting the secret levelz) and the job of writting walkthroughz for your CLz will be doen (do not forget to update your list with thumbz up)... and you'll have time to design more CLz ... oh I'm looking forward for a new CL...

That's right ... "Lamont Cranston" and "The Breakfast Club" will be the last onez without walkthroughz once this one is complete. I have made significant progress on the walkthrough for "Uphill Battle", with it now complete through satisfying the SpongeGun CheckPointSwitch. When SpongeGun pickz up the GooberStraw, the most confusing part of the solution beginz. (That's next.)
The Coinz list is now complete (and accurate!), so I will be uploading it in a few minutez. (A wise Gruntzer could use just the Coinz list to determine the correct (IMHO) sequence of doing thingz.)
In this one, I have tried to spell out the termz before using them as acronymz, even though I still provide linkz to the Glossary. It is my hope that Gruntzerz will embrace the 'standard' abbreviationz, rather than making something up.

using acronymz is the best way to use in a message and the Glossary helps to do so... if all Gruntzerz will embrace the 'standard' abbreviationz we will be talking the same language all over the world ... ... GRUNTZLISH...

The walkthrough itself is now completed (I know that there are a few typos (minor onez) ... I will fix those for the next upload), but the Secretz have not been completed, much less uploaded to the web host. I will likely finish the Secretz and upload the member before 5:00PM (PDT) Friday ... or else it won't happen until after the Seattle Mariners vs Chicago White Sox baseball game is over. (I have my prioritiez. )

Thanks for the walkthrough, GooRoo It was nice to do this level without having to restart or go back 5 or 6 times. I only went back twice, because I forgot to do things. Anyway it helped a lot. I know the next time I do it (probably next year), I will enjoy the experience.

So far, so good Sunny! There is a really good reason why that wormhole is green (re-usable) ... you will send Gruntz through it several timez. You should have already sent your Gauntletz Grunt through it, so you know where it takez you. If you were successful in that area, you added a Shovel Grunt to your team. If my assumptionz are incorrect, you need to go back a ways and re-do some thingz.
Back to that green wormhole. There are two SecretTeleporterTriggerz in this area. You should use your GunHat Grunt to find the first one. The second one is more difficult, and requirez 'help' from another Grunt in order to reach it. I will watch for posts in this thread, and respond to your next question, when (if?) you need more help.

Once i step on the Yellow switch to release it, it passes the first corner perfectly. When it reaches the top left corner, the arrow comes a millisecond later and the ball goes into water. I have the updated version of this CL (dated 14/4/05). Am i doing something wrong as nobody else seems to have this problem.

If you have the updated version, then it is probably just a matter of (critical) timing. The Rolling SnowBall (RSB) is bouncing back and forth (fairly rapidly) between an and a and if you release it by stepping on the (or ) while it is moving north, you may be a little late. Release it as it is beginning to move south, in that case. Practice, practice, practice! (I hope you have a good SAVE slot made just before releasing the RSB! )

I have a very safe SAVE point! I have sent the Shovel Grunt throgh the BW and then sent another Grunt through the Siler Pyramids to occupy the spot where the BW was. I have tried at least 50 different timings to hit the Yellow trigger switch but the RSB always falls in the water. Problem is not that it is coming late, but too early and reaches water before the arrow tile comes. I have run out of patience!! Is there someway i can get past this part... a cheat perhaps

Use the cheat code to create a new Grunt on the Green Switch that the Rolling SnowBall is supposed to toggle. That is what I did when I discovered the timing problem in my re-play to write the walkthrough.

Gooroo, I have analysed the problem further. It is not a problem with the Timing of stepping on the Yellow Switch because the Secret button is pressed AFTER the RSB is released by the yellow arrow. So whenever you press the Yellow switch, the result will always be the SAME.
Pls tell me how to use Cheat code to create a new gruntz; i have never used cheats.

This is the Updated version on the first page of the Forum. So this could be the reason of the problem. Can you check whether you also download April 14th version from page 1?
