Notes: Galerian's work here is great! Many of the various timing puzzles or grunt-movement puzzles are well thought out and well done, in addition to seeming to be hard to edit in.

It should have been 6 of 6 ... and the CL should be dated January 30, 2004. If it is dated January 13, 2004, I have a problem with the Gruntz Level Editor update process. I will check my own copy ... may need to re-distribute the CL, if my change didn't get made. Well, something happened ... because my simple little change did not get SAVEd. I changed one Coin (item ID 80) contained within a Rock next to a Blue Toggle Switch to warp Letter "W" (item ID 90). I will re-upload the CL (I changed it ... again ... and SAVEd it this time ) so that anyone who wants the ability to achieve a "PERFECT!" display may download it when (if) they want to. The correct version will now be dated January 31, 2004.

I've started over with the updated level. I think I need the goo from the 1st tube grunt, but I can't seem to kill him without taking out some of the bridge that leads to the gray gruntz goo puddle. It's been a long time since I've played Gruntz, so please bear with me. Do I need the tubez goo? If not where do I get enough goo to make another grunt to pick up the gauntletz and shovel, so I don't give up the goober straw needed at the checkpoint? Arrrggghhhh!

You don't need the toobz grunt. There are 4 goo puddles.. colors green, red, blue and grey.

Thanks, Idle Al. The blue goo puddle down by the gauntletz and shovel isn't accessible yet. Is that the one you mean or am I missing something?

You can suck up all four of the Goo puddlez before you need the second Grunt. Just solve the minipuzzlez and suck up Goo whenever you can, and you'll be fine.

Any clues as to how to get thru the large, green up-down pyramidz area? I've tried about 20 times and keep getting mushed.

That was the hardest part for me. The key here is to move QUICKLY and to cut corners when you can. At least that's how I did it. Remember that you can move through the outer "layer" completely until it comes up.

FriedGruntzaholic sent me a walkthrough on this 'way back on June 11 th (2004 ... I'm not that slow!), but I SAVEd it to my hard drive ... and forgot about it. I went through a major clean-up of my e-mails, and found it, and sure enough I had SAVEd it (but did nothing else about it). I tested out the first part of it, and decided from the first half paragraph that it was rather thorough. So I have now uploaded it to my web host, and linked the walkthrough to the original description post.

Ugh, don't get me started with that green pyramid maze, I will have bad dreams about it!
The waY I did it was just moving my gruntz REALLY FAST!!! out and back in the perimiter line (when I could) and skipping out of line when I could, later on in the process. It takes practice!
(Also I wrote above) "That was the hardest part for me. The key here is to move QUICKLY and to cut corners when you can. At least that's how I did it. Remember that you can move through the outer "layer" completely until it comes up."

i'm near the toggling green pyramid hazard. i cannot see a safe path through the maze... is there help pleeeease... i get smushed This one took me days to figure out. By far the most difficult puzzle in the entire level. To answer your question, there is no "safe path" through this maze, but rather "safe tilez" that become available in the very outer layer of the pyramidz. These "safe tilez" appear only very briefly, so you can't stay too long on one tile. So it works like this: you enter the maze as the green pyramidz go down toward the center of the maze and move toward the other side of the maze, keeping close to the absolute outer layer of pyramidz. As the pyramidz reverse course and rise back up from the center out, your grunt must seek safety on one of the tiles of the outer layer of the pyramidz, but he must choose the right tile to stand on. Then as the pyramidz reverse course yet again, your grunt may move on toward the other side until he must seek safety again. This course must be repeated until your grunt reaches the other side.

The link to the walkthrough for this Custom Level was bad, but it has now been corrected. I left out the folder name, so trying to access the walkthrough returned a "page not found" error. During my illnesses, my computer room became somewhat of a mess ... the result of me only having enough strength to do 10% of the job at any one time ... and the mental fugue that caused me to forget what I was doing (or had already done!) left printouts on every flat surface (several items deep). I am now trying to dig out all of those walkthroughs that have been sent to me, in order to test them and get them uploaded to the host and linked for access by you Gruntzerz.

One thing to keep in mind is that 'our' Gruntz are incredibly smart in some wayz, and incredibly stupid in otherz. They will take the shortest path to any destination you click on (incredibly smart), even if it involvez walking into a Hole/Quicksand/Tar Pit/et cetera (incredibly stupid). So to speed up your movement through any maze, simply click on a safe destination Tile, only multiple-clicking to avoid hazardz. A Grunt walking on a Bridge through the Water will alwayz take the shortest safe path ... that is, one that appearz to be safe at the time you click on a destination Tile. If conditionz change during the Gruntz' trek, all betz are off as to whether it will survive or not (as in being forced to wait on a Crumbling Bridge Tile, because a Toggling Bridge Tile is 'down' when the Grunt arrivez ... glub, glub, glub).
