I designed this Custom Level with two major ways to solve it ... the hard way, and the easy way. Until today, I wasn't sure that it was possible to solve it 'the hard way'. The easy way is to remove the Rolling Golf Ball that controls the Red Pyramidz, through timing of a Yellow Hold Switch. The hard way is to just forge ahead, and then time your trip through a bunch of Arrowz, to arrive at Red Pyramidz when they are down. And that was the easy part of 'the hard way'! Allowing those Red Pyramidz to go "Up, no down, no up. This'll be tough!", makes several parts of this CL more difficult. Today I managed to solve it with a "PERFECT!" 'the hard way'! I hope to have the walkthrough, perhaps in a format ala Paul's "A World of Sweetz", with graphic support of the trickier parts, by the first Saturday in June, 2004. At a minimum, my intent is to have one of my 'standard' format walkthroughs for this done by then. I think I know how to solve an 'argument' I have been having with MS Paint, and if I am correct on that, there will be pictures of the major areas, with my hand-drawn solution overlays. For a CL with a solving time (game timer time) of over two hours, there are a lot of areas where a picture would be worth a thousand words. From what I have learned of HTML, I will have to have a folder structure for each walkthrough done as Paul did his, so it will take a bit of effort (trial and error ... with me, probably mostly error ) to get it working properly. That's why I hedging my bets, and saying that it may be one of my 'standard' format walkthroughs, in order to have it available by June 6 th.

It seems I can't even get my dates right! Saturday is the 5 th, not the 6 th, and today (Thursday the 3 rd) I have only managed to get through the Arrowz maze. It looks like even my 'standard' walkthrough will not be ready until (or possibly even, by) my birthday. My early attempts at linking in images has fallen flat ... and I doubt that I will learn how to do it right in the near future. The best I might hope for is to have separate links for the main walkthrough, and any supporting images, so that it would look like: - walkthrough text
- image 1 ...
- image 'n'
- Secret 1...
Clumsy, but at least the components will be available, so that when I learn how to properly link HTML to HTML(gif), it will be simply a matter of completing the links in the walkthrough text. I only have half days on Friday and Saturday, and no time on Sunday, then full days Monday through Thursday, and half days again the next Friday and Saturday. At the rate I am going, that will not be sufficient time to have the walkthrough ready for 'publication'. Are there any volunteers for BETA testing the walkthrough, when I have a finished rough draft to "throw stonez at"? PM me, or post here, if you would like to be a BETA tester for the walkthrough. Happy Gruntzing!!!

One tip for designers concerning Olio type levels (like Tropical Torment) is to make everything work together. A good example of this is in GoldenGrunt's recent level, such that you use the goober straw on events of the past, and the rockz grunt that hurt you before serves another purpose. More of this can be seen later on in the level.

I expect to have a text-based walkthrough ready for BETA testing in about 24 hours (or less). My second metatarsal is still giving me problems, so my normal half days on the computer on Thursdays are now full days, and I have just the final two areaz to cover. So I have over 24 more hours avalable until my next scheduled activity that will take/keep me away from the computer. I estimate that today I completed at least 40% of the walkthrough as-of this posting, and about 40% was already done before today. Since I still have about six waking hours today to work on it, it looks good for a testable walkthrough before I go horizontal tonight.
Anyone wanting the walkthrough, either for BETA testing, or just because they are currently involved with this puzzle, may PM me for an e-mail of it, if I have not linked the walkthrough in this thread. When I upload the walkthrough to my web host, I will change: GooRoo is in the process of creating the walkthrough for this CL.

Those thingz are rather hard on the eyez, aren't they! The distracting way they jump up into the air, and the soundz they make, make it difficult to see the pattern of the 'safe' path. My day is rather full today, but perhaps twelve (or more) hourz from now I may be able to take a look at it, and create such a map.

Ahhh, that would be terrific ! Thank you ! Although, that's what the F-5 button is for...SAVE, SAVE, SAVE !!!! I have had to start this CL over so many times, you'd think it would be a breeze...and I'm only half way so far!!! Oh well, that's half the fun, isn' t it? I'm running out of levels, soon I'll have done all the ones I can possibly do (save the ones that have those blasted tightly timed parts...) and I might have to try my hand at designing one...who knows?

I modified the original post, to add descriptions to the maps I already had provided, and to add the map for the flying golfballz. Perhaps I should have posted that this was done. I hope you found the map when you replied this morning, WalkingBear!

What actually happened, Goo Roo, was I made it all the way to the silver pyramidz puzzle. In desperation, I made it through the golf ballz maze, although probably not the way you have it in your solution....but I DID IT !!! And then, when the fort was in sight, I blew it in the silver pyramidz....so today, it's BACK TO THE START--AGAIN!!!! But at least I know what I am doing and it should go pretty smoothly, barring any more foolish mistakes.......this was a great level. Thanks for all your help!
