GooRoo's scheduled time away from the Forum

I will be leaving Wednesday June 22^nd in the afternoon for the National Square Dance Convention. I probably will not be back on-line to do maintenance, etc. until sometime Sunday. I will try to have everything as up-to-date as possible before I leave. (I do not own a notebook computer (with, or without Internet access ) so will go through withdrawal for about 100 hours. )

I will be off the Internet for about 48 hourz, starting right after I check for anything requiring a response on this Forum ... which I will do right after posting this message.

I will be attending the men's assembly of Christian Life Church, and will be without a telephone, much less a computer.

Beginning immediately, I will be largely away from the Forum until after my daughter JoAnn and her husband return home sometime Memorial Day. This is an annual thing, a Square dancing week-end from Thursday evening through Monday morning. There are lots of activities going on all the time, morning to late evening, so there will be little time for me to spend Gruntzing.

I will try to check in at least once daily, but will not be spending enough time to be doing any maintenance, testing, or distributing of new CLz. (If I didn't check on my e-mailz, my inbox would be overflowing with SPAM, so I have to do at least that much, and will check here for anything that requirez some action on my part.)

I have a small part in a "Theatre In The Round" play that is now heating up as far as demandz on my time are concerned. Starting tomorrow I will be involved in either rehearsalz or performancez four to six dayz a week (about four hourz per day for rehearsalz, six hourz per day for performancez) through the Sunday after Thanksgiving Day (USA holiday, last Thursday in November). And none of my other activitiez are being diminished in any way, so if you think I have been slow in responding to questionz and getting new Custom Levelz distributed for the past month, you will think I have been greased lightning (comparatively) until December!

Weekday day time activitiez will have task #1 being to find a new (dependable!) web host for the Custom Levelz, Walkthroughz and various imagez. Task #2 (once #1 is accomplished) will be to set up the folderz and populate them, then change all of the linkz to get objectz from the new web host, instead of from (the probably defunct ) Neron Hosting. Until task #1 is accomplished, I will be working on my current Custom Level in progress "SecretSoduko1" (the Rocky Roadz version in an intended seriez of 8). Those are the important thingz I will work on ... and there are alwayz the urgent thingz (purging SPAM e-mailz , etc.).

Once again, I have a part in a theatre in the round play, "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof", and beginning Wednesday March 14^th for the next seven weekz will be involved in rehearsalz and performancez. On the average, four eveningz per week I will be off-line, and will spend as much time as I feel necessary in solo rehearsalz of my linez, and the 'blocking' of my character during the rest of the time. And with the warming as we shift into spring, I will also be spending a lot more time outdoorz tending to green thingz. So it would be best if Designerz would find someone else to do the BETA testing of new Custom Levelz. I trust Gaby and Oldone to ensure that CLz are truly ready to be distributed (and Gamer as well, if he has the time to do testing) ... and will just send out the tested CLz they send to me. It is my intention to check e-mailz and new postz in this Forum at least twice a day (early morning, and late evening), and will take care of whatever needz to be done that a Global Moderator cannot do as soon as I recognize the need.

The week-end of Father's Day in the United States (Sunday, June 17^th) is the Washington State Square Dance Convention (held in Redmond, WA) and the family will be there. We will probably be leaving for the dance site Friday morning, and will not return until sometime Sunday ... probably mid-afternoon being the earliest we will return home. Since I do not have a portable computer I can bring with me, and login between dancez, I will be off-line for a bit over 50 hourz. I will try to resolve the problem with SecretSoduko1, have it BETA tested and distribute it before we have to leave for Redmond.

I will also try to get as many as possible of any Custom Levelz sent to me verified and distributed before I go off-line ... using whatever time is available while my own CL is being BETA tested to work on other thingz.

Well, this is not really 'scheduled' time away from the Forum ... just an advice that I am returning to the Gruntz Level editor Manual conversion project from Forum UBBC to HTML. So I will be off-line working on the manual, and will only be checking in here at the Forum when I need something from it, or when I am mentally fatigued from the conversion work.

Whenever I take a break from the GLEM work, I will also be checking/purging (SPAM from) my e-mail (first) and (for me) PMz generate an e-mail notification that a message has been left here, linking me back to the Forum.

Please Note: I am not the creator of these animationz ... I just located them on a web site in Japan, and asked for (and received) permission from the authoress to link to them from my Square Dance Forum (on ProBoards, like this one).

These linkz constitute the entire Mainstream Square Dance program as-of 1999. I also have linkz to the entire Plus Square Dance program, and to the entire Advanced Square Dance program ... but since 90% of all square dancerz stop at the Mainstream program, I saw no reason to add in the Plus and Advanced linkz. My club is called the Double A's (like the battery), and dancez at the Advanced program level, with a few of the Challenge-1 program movez thrown in from time-to-time. The movez of the lower program(z) are required (and used) in the higher programz ... all the way up to Challenge-4 (about 5,500 movez expected to be known by dancerz of C-4!).

Beginning immediately, and continuing through "Boxing Day" (Canadian observance, December 26^th) I will be spending very little time on Gruntzy thingz. In two hourz my daughter and I head to the theatre for our performance in "Miracle on 34^th St.", and tomorrow is both a matinee performance, and our square dance club's Christmas party. Then Monday through Thursday afternoon will be spent in preparing for company for Christmas. Then three more performancez on Thursday, Friday and Saturday eveningz ... with more company preparationz during the day. So it is extremely unlikely that I will be distributing any more Custom Levelz during the next eleven dayz. You may submit them to me, but be advised that your puzzle may 'sit' for a while.
