Notes: This is a "tryout" level.
This Custom Level was originally available from: Gruntz - The Journey Home which no longer supports downloads (and now is a security risk) ... but the successor GooRoo's Gruntz - The Journey Home (still) does!

Do you remember the Standard Level "Gruntz In Space - Stage 1 - Use Those Sponge Gunz"? The path to the (not so) Secret Switch ("?")? Invisible Tilez! Put your Grunt on the solid Tile nearest the first Crumbling Bridge Tile, and just walk straight up to the Green Bridge Tile with the first Coin on it. Grab everything you can, and return the same way you came.

This Custom Level has been re-sized down to 52X52, retaining Chrystien's original puzzlez as much as possible. Some small graphicz changez, to reduce the boredom of tilez 135 and 101 along every north and south border ... mainly near the King's Fortress. I also added some assistance for the tedious digging when you get near the King's Fortress. I will be sending out the new version via e-mail before midnight, Pacific Daylight Savings Time (about ten minutes from now).

This is the second of the year 2000 Releases Questz (after my re-do) with a "Medium" difficulty rating. With all the enemy Gruntz and UFOs, maybe it actually deserves that rating in the original puzzle by @chrystien (The Kirby). Since my only 'contribution' was paring it down in size (and adding a PowerUp or two), I probably am the one guilty of rating it so.

I revisited this level to verify my old statement that it should rather be placed in the "Easy" category. The conclusion is that I still agree with my old self - the level is not challenging at all. There are no parts in it that could stop the solver for a longer while, except the digging section at the end - but that one is only going to make you fall asleep. All the enemy fights can just be skipped because there is no goober straw in the game. For how large the map is, the level is very fast to complete. Only getting the coins is a bit tricky, because it involves knowing that space tiles can sometimes be walked on (introduced in Gruntz in Space, Stage 1) and that there are no secrets in the level to take you there. It really makes you wish for a multi-component difficulty system, where such things could be directly highlighted. For that reason, and only for that reason, I'd consider an "Easy+" difficulty rating for this level. I think it's just too straightforward overall for a "Medium" or higher.

The Announcement even agrees with you "This is a tryout level". IdleAl created the original Announcement (perhaps taken from another source) which may have included the source's rating. And I never challenged the rating when I made up the indices.
