I have XP and have never had it crash, but I also can only play in the full screen mode. I've tried to reset it but it always goes back to its default. Personally, it doesn't bother me.

Once you use either the 800X600 or 1024X768 screen resolution patch, do NOT use the Gruntz game options panel to select any display options, or the game will revert back to the default 600X480 resolution! Also, if you play a Gruntz Level with a map smaller than your display size, the screen resolution will revert to the default. After playing the small map CL, just re-select the screen resolution patch you desire, and the registry will be updated (again). I use Windows XP (Home Edition) with Gruntz V1.01 and the screen resolution patch of 1024X768. I have had no problems other than the ones I described above.

If it were possible for me to sit by your side as you tried to start the Gruntz game, I might be able to determine what the problem is, and provide a solution. I am not a power PC user, though, and cannot be of any more help from my remote location. From your most recent post, it seems that you are having this problem when trying to play Standard Levelz, so that eliminates the "faulty Custom Level" cause of the Gruntz game failure. At least, I have to assume that your Gruntz CD-ROM (or RealArcade downloaded version) program components are not at fault. Perhaps your video card is one that is (for some readon) not compatible with the 1999 vintage Gruntz game.

i did have that to. there are more discussion about this problem in this forum.
its the video card . when you have a gforce (i have) and the update drivers are above 61.77 then you can (i can) play it only in 800x600 (use the XP reg )
with the update drivers 61.77 or under the 61.77 i can play it in 1024x768.
