After almost two yearz with this Forum, I finally decided to get lazy ... or maybe smart. Or perhapz it is paranoia that has me trying out some thingz, regarding all of the filez stored on my web site. I was thinking of how much work it would be to move to another host, and tried an experiment. I used the " word list" facility of ProBoards to set a short string of characterz that would be replaced by the basic URL of all of those filez hosted at Neron Hosting. It works! You see, the most frequent error I make is entering "http://gooroosgruntz/info/", when it should be "http://gooroosgruntz.info/"! Now I will never make that mistake again. And should I be forced to move the filez to a different host, all I need to do is set up the same folder structure, and replace the URL in the word list, and I won't have to go through all of the references to my current host site, changing URLz to the new host. (Except that I will have to go through all of the URLz once, setting the replacement string where the basic URL is in all of those references. ) I get tired just thinking about the time required to do that simple little thing! But it would take me one step closer to being able to make the Gruntz Level Editor Manual a true HTML document, allowing the user to quickly link to different partz of the manual. I think I will just use the new technique on new entriez, and worry about updating the old onez when I have nothing better to do.

I don't understand what works, or what the words list has to do with the hosting site.

I don't understand what works, or what the words list has to do with the hosting site. I am able to put a short string into an URL in place of that long "ht....com/", and the word list replaces the short string with the full string ... so that if I became a user of freewebs, I would only have to change the word list from neron to freewebs, etc. ... and all of the URLz would be resolved to the new web host!
