I have some interesting news. You remember the Gruntz let's plays I made in the past? I know Zu has seen them don't know if anyone else has, but I no longer make these. But keep in mind that does not mean I'm done making Gruntz videos far from it. In fact I am going to reboot my let's play series, and play the standard levels in order like they are supposed to. But there are gonna be a lot of things different: - I will not record from the beginning of the level to the end. I don't know about you, but a long clip of a grunt just walking is pretty boring to me. I will cut to where something is going on.
- I will put humor into the let's play. What was lacking in my old let's plays was humor. Most of the humor in this new let's play series will be dialog added to both my grunts and the enemy grunts. I know there is already voice assigned from them, but I'm gonna disable the game voices and add dialog of my own. Hopefully that will make the let's play more fun.
- I will not do let's plays of custom levels until I'm done with the main game.
Oh and this new rebooted let's play will have swearing and some sexual references. And because of that I doubt I'll be able to link the let's play here as it could go against the rules, but I will inform you when the first part is complete. This let's play series will be called Blaze's Gruntz Adventures, and my goal is to make it very enjoyable to people not familiar with the game Gruntz.

This level is brilliant I love the puzzle where I have to make sure these slimy thingies don't touch the toyer. That requires a lot of analyziation and I like that.
Well done on the level. It's great.

I need help.
The image shows where I am at the level.
Anyway, no matter what I do the bomb grunt refuses to use the toy. Can someone help out?
EDIT: Never mind I found out the solution myself, I'm supposed to use the toys on the toyer, but the bomber.

Thank you good sir. I wanted the level to be titled Happy Birthday Remastered instead of V2, but I'm fine with that title as well.

So not much has changed.
Alright, I'll send him the level, but is it really necessary to send the perfect screenshot as well? I don't care for secrets.
I'll send him the level after I get back home from work.

The level isn't officially released yet, even though I said it's ready.
Guess that means I have to get a beta tester first, but I tested the level out myself and there is no problem.
Since it's been so long since I last published a level I gotta ask, is e-mailing GooRoo still the way to get levels published, or has it changed? The reason I'm asking this is because my last level was published in 2013 and things might have changed since then.
How do I publish the level? I really need to know since it was supposed to be released two days ago, but wasn't.

Well it's finally time to release the level. However when GooRoo or Zu do, don't credit it under my name. The only contribution I did to the level was modify the original version slightly.
Normally I'd need to e-mail the level, but I don't need to this time, since it can be just downloaded from my website host and be officially published.
And when it's published it should be called HappyBirthdayRemastered not happybirthdayedited like it is titled on my website host, link to the level on the website host is in the first post.

I must admit this is a very creative level, I thought just finding the red warp would lead me to beat the level easily, of course it wasn't that simple.
I don't know when I'll get around to beating the level I will try it out some time.
And no I won't do a let's play on it as I retired my let's play series.

Thanks for all the changes made to the level so far.
There is only a week until the level is published. And I'm looking forward to it.

Sadly I am one of these terrible Gruntz level makers, in fact I'm currently one of the worst. But I look forward to what the level in celebration is gonna be. I should play it, it has been too long since I tried any new levels. I have so much free time on my hand, so there is no excuse. I should return to this community as a whole very soon. I don't understand why you thinking like that.Your levels are very good. Yeah sorry about that I have low self-esteem.

This would be a really good idea if we had 20 or so people who regularly make Gruntz levels and are very skilled at it... but alas, Gruntz levels don't come very often these days, and there's only a handful of people who make any levels at all... and some of those people, well, can't really make standard level quality levels, I'm sad to say. Things like too much empty space, putting things at the very corners of the map, mismatching tiles - these are the primary mistakes such people do, and which just wouldn't fit in a standard level. Considering all this, I think a more realistic project would be to make 8 levels, one per each world, with gradually increasing difficulty. That at least would have some chance of reaching completion.

I changed my mind and decided to check out the updated version. Here is what was changed: - Who teleports with rolling balls around them were added.
- The go-kart was moved so it takes a bit longer to reach it. The way you get it is still nearly the same
And that's about it. More changes were made to what I assume are the secrets, someone who cares has to check that out and tell me what they think because I couldn't care less about the secret areas. Perhaps Zu can check these out.

I'm not gonna check the new version, because I honestly don't care. So don't you want my edited level ? Of course, you are welcome to edit as much as you want. I did update the link to have your version. What I meant is I don't care how someone edits the level, any edit is welcome. I'm aware that could result in the final version being a mess, but whatever. The reason I'm not checking the level now is because I have so many other stuff on my mind right now.

I'm playing the original version, and no matter what I do that damn plane manages to kill me before I can reach the spy grunts since I can't finish breaking the bricks before then.
Does anyone know of a solution to this? Because sadly I don't.
EDIT: It's beyond embarrassing to not be able to finish a level I made, just goes to show I wasn't thinking at all when I made any of the levels I made back then.

I'm not gonna check the new version, because I honestly don't care.
Anyone here is welcome to edit the level, so I'll just update the link whenever I get a new version of the level in my mail box.
September 15th is the release date. I will check the final version by then.

Are you editing my version, or Blaze's original version? He was editing yours. And the new version is now available for download in the first post. And from what I gather he changed a lot.

I previewed this new version now and yes it is an improvement.
However I noticed an issue that I didn't notice before. What's the point of having these kegs of zap cola near that thief? As soon as you kill him you're done using these guys. It doesn't matter if he steals the shovel or gauntlets, you can easily kill him without having either grunt killed. So these kegs of zap cola there are completely pointless. Especially since you do get a keg of zap cola before fighting him.
Oh and I don't care for the secrets so I didn't look for them. But I would be thankful if someone who does care about secrets would test them out, other than Zu of course, thank you.

I know I said Sunday but I'm reviewing it on Saturday, so I apologize for taking so long. Anyway, I'm gonna have to say this version by Zu is a lot better than the original version. No annoying planes, no invincibility powerup that lasts for eternity, and best of all, the level doesn't have too much empty space. Now I'm gonna talk about the things that were added. - The way you have to kill two sponge grunts instead of one was a neat change.
- Now dealing with the toyer is a real challenege.
- I love how you have to trick that shovel grunt to dig the sword grunt into a hole, that's not easy to figure out in fact it took me a few minutes to figure it out. Great job.
- Replacing the shield grunts with the swords grunts was a smart move, and best of all I don't have to kill all of them, I just have to make sure they aren't in my way. Which means the wings have more usage than just flight.
- Getting the go-kart was made harder, now you have to be careful or else these swords grunts will kill you. That's a great challenge.
But there is one issue that I have with this improved version that I have to point out. The welder's kit is next to uselss. You have to use the time bomb to take care of that swords grunt who is holding the switch. On Wednesday if no one else does, I will try changing the level so there is more use for the Welder's Kit than just to go to a checkpoint. It's not gonna be a simple task, but I'll try. If there are any other issues that need to be fixed, feel free to do it yourselves, this is a level the rest of the community is allowed to edit after all. The download file for the whole level is in the first post.
