Sorry, I wouldn't have guessed that you can do that at all in the first place. Does it have to be Google Drive? I play 15 dollars a month for mine, I store all sorts of files there it has so much space I will never be 1/4 way done. Especially since I delete files I don't use anymore constantly.

Does anyone remember how me and Gamer worked on this level together? Because I'm stumped, and I have no idea what his discord or skype is or if he even has one. But I'm not sending him a friend invite out of the blue since that would be rude. Can anyone help?

Oh actually one more thing. To those who are familiar with Google Drive and know how to make pages and make the files on your Google Drive public, can I get any advice on how to do it right? I'd appreciate that.

Just informing you, this will still be happening. I cannot prevent people from associating with my old Internet name that had my birthname when people look at my levels, but at the very least I can make the Gruntz levels on my Google Drive easier to find when only being associated with my current Internet name.
And I know my original versions are awful, but these are the ones I made originally so I think it's for the best that I have the levels on that web host as they were originally. I mean that makes the most sense as they are my levels, and the edits to them were made by someone else.
So yeah. I will keep you guys updated when these pages are ready.

It's a great and simple level with two things that I think are flaws. The sponge gun grunt at the beginning can't actually push the sword grunt out of the ground as the sword grunt's range is larger than the sponge gun's range, so the only way to get past it is to just take the hit and then run. Also the death power up is unnecessarily long. Other than that, I enjoyed the level. Thank you.
Actually, the opening has a quirk that showed up in several other Questz by several other Designers: the solver has to shoot at where the enemy WILL BE, not where he is to start. That Sword Grunt has a large detection value, so starts his attack before the Sponge Gun is in range; aim at a spot BEFORE the path the enemy takes ... and (with luck) you hit him and can retreat. If VERY lucky you can even get rid of him!Thankfully I remember my intentions. The goal was to make sure he has to hit you first before you can push him off the planet. Though considering I put no thought into anything, I doubt that's how it turned out in the actual product.

The thing is level making used to be my passion, but it's not anymore now it's video making. I wanted to get back to making Gruntz levels not for fun but because I wanted to make something good, and that backfired.
Look I appreciate your optimism but my point stands. If any of these levels were good, it was completely by accident as I was a stupid kid who put no thought into anything, now I do, and I'm far more critical of myself than I was back then, that's why my latest level not being of the best quality bothers me.

Honestly I give up. After all these decades of making levels, I never made a good one. The only thing close to that is Edwin's Kitchen, but it still has the exact same problems as the levels I made when I was literally a kid.
When I made the level clubs'n'rock'n'roll I was hoping I could make a great one for once. But nope, as it turned out the beta version was my worst level so far. Many people told me that.
So there is no point in trying, making Gruntz levels is meant to be fun, and it's no fun if I can't make one that many people enjoy playing and is great objectively.
So you know what? I'm throwing in the towel. I am not retiring making Gruntz levels, but next time I make one it will be intentionally bad, there is no point in putting effort if it won't pay in the end, which it didn't that's the main reason I canceled the level casino madness. I don't even care if the levels go through beta testing or not, if there won't be an official thread I will just host the new levels on my Google Drive, which will have a doc linked on my YouTube channel so anyone can easily find them.

No problem. I'm not a fan of most of my level in retrospective, I was a stupid kid back when I made them. But I'm glad you enjoyed it.

You know, I decided, since I'm not even remotely ok with my birthname Bjarni being public, I am gonna do something about it. I know it's far too late to erase that completely since I was a stupid kid and was far too open about my real name online, but at least this way I can make it easier to find my levels without associating them with my birthname, hell I am even gonna edit "made by..." in the levels and change it all to Blaze The Movie Fan. (Or Blaze The Movie Fan and Gamer in one case. Btw, how is that guy doing now? Is he still around?)
So yeah I am gonna do this eventually, it will be a lot of hard work but it's worth it. I'm putting a link to that Google Doc and hosting all my levels I ever made to my Google Drive as well. I pay 10-15 dollars monthly, and constantly delete finished projects, so storage won't be a problem, 2TB is a lot of storage, far more than I need.
I don't know when I'll do it, but I will keep you updated when that page is ready.

I still have Windows 10, I know I have to upgrade eventually, but I'll keep using Windows 10 while I still can.
I'm so sorry this happened. I'm no computer expert, so I have no idea what I can say to help with your issues, but I hope you will be able to eventually adapt to Windows 11.

As anyone can plainly see, swietymiki has provided a solution that restores the designed look of this discussion forum.
A change in web host would still be advisable, as GoDaddy (under the new owners) is no longer very helpful, and their focus is on $ale$, not customers.
I am 81 years old, and not as active as I once was in Gruntz, and still think it is time for some "new blood" to take over as owner/administrator of this forum and its associated supporting web host, etc. I am quite willing to be "admin emeritus" and support things, especially things related to HTML. I know let swiet take over. I think it's perfect, he knows a lot about how this stuff works, and has done a lot for the Gruntz community for all these years.

I noticed there isn't much discussion going on here anymore. Only a few posts are made every 1-4 months.
I have noticed this with most message boards, most message boards are very inactive, I know why more people talk through discord than on a message board.
So yeah I wanna ask has this place become as dead as other message boards?

Hi - I remember you. It's Bjarni, right? Your custom levels left me scratching my head at times. I am back too but under a different name now. I played back in 2001. Good to see a familiar name. Brenda
I would prefer if you didn't call me Bjarni, yeah it used to be the name I went by mostly on the Internet, but it's not anymore. In fact I only want people who know me in person to call me Bjarni, I want people who know me online to call me Blaze. But yeah, welcome back.

Full title: Can someone give me a full list of things that were common in custom levels during the early years of the game which are frowned upon now?
Now, I want to do my best to catch up with how things work now regarding Gruntz. Last year when I returned to the game, I noticed the community changed a lot, and I have a lot to catch upon. So if you guys can give me a full list that'd be appreciated.

Actually I changed my mind again. I will without a doubt return this month. I was at first gonna make April a Gruntz month, but not anymore. I'll be back sooner than you know it I promise.

I know I said before that I was gonna return to Gruntz in March. But the thing is I'm using most of January to catch up with 2022 movies to review. And it took me a lot longer than I thought it would. At this rate it will be late in February when I'm done with 2022 movies. And it doesn't feel right to dedicate the very next month to Gruntz videos when I barely had time to make other kinds of videos for the remainer of February.
So yeah, I am coming back to Gruntz, but it will be in April instead of March. I'm sorry my break is longer than originally planned, but I think it's for the best.

As with "Clubs..." my part in making this one playable exempts me from being a proper BETA tester.
So would someone please play it through so it may be distributed to the Gruntz Fanz? Listen, when I get back to Gruntz from my break, I will fix it. I'll start my break in December and will be back from it in March 2023. If that's too long of a wait I understand. But I got tired of the game that's why I'm taking a break.

I have to recuse myself, since I had a part in making the puzzle playable to a "PERFECT!" solution.
Is anybody willing to prove this one worthy of distribution via BETA testing? Swiet already tested it and said he didn't like it, and I don't think it's ready for that yet. I will gladly fix the problems, but not now I am gonna take a long break from Gruntz starting in December, and will be back in March.
