Thank you; I am working on a new tropicz level (probably medium density. medium to big size and easy to medium difficulty) but I am also working on a smaller level too which will be released first. I hope you new designers learn lots and create great levels I can see it start to happen already. If you ever want me to look at any beta levels, you let me know, ok?

It's an interesting idea, but it becomes an annoyance when used too much. I think it is a still a good alternative and great in several instances.

Fiber Twig 2 (the sequel to Fiber Twig) is really great in my opinion. It is put out by a somewhat less known company -- Puzzle Lab, but it is interesting to me. The goal of the game is to complete the twigs in the level. The level starts at the bottom, and below, twigs scroll on the conveyor until they stop at its left side. You can use any twigs on the conveyor to complete the twigs in the level, and once the row or rows at the bottom are connected up, the level scrolls up to reveal more twigs to complete. One great part of the game is instead of just trying to complete the level as fast as possible, you can use the twigs to create beautiful patterns. As you upgrade your helpmate's skills, you have more options, from filling in an empty space with the appropriate twig, to more intricate and further spanning twigs. I find the graphics of the game good and the sound given is nice as well. The only drawback is there are just 20 levels, but usually levels take a fair amount of time to complete, and there is always the "save game" option if you want to come back later. If anyone wants to test out the game, you can play for an hour in the demo version here or purchase it online on the page here.

Heh not really what the board was for, but I guess, drug bashing is about as honorable as any...
The only problem is usually the first post is where people would look to find info, and a potential reader might stop after the first post in the thread. So I would suggest about putting a message like "NOTE: See this post for a better explanation.", or deleting that post altogether?

Here's another game: alt.tnt.tv/games/thedoors/Keep in mind you can access things from some views that you can't in other views. Also keep in mind many things won't be used.

Another great game with level sets is downloadable here. (Or just search for LaserTank under download.com) It is a great game to play with the puzzles, much like a sequel to Chip's Challenge and fun to play. I would also suggest downloading many of the different level sets (and the level set creater) and have fun with that as well. It is a great game in my opinion.

What a surprise seeing this here! I had played Pandora's box a few years ago (2 or 3) and was close to the last challenge when the computer had a power surge and my game became corrupted Oh well... ) It's certainly a graphics game instead of the "logic" type puzzles in Gruntz. You will be given paintings/graphical artwork in many of the challenges. One of my favorite things about this game was the creativity of the different puzzles and the cool graphics and music.

This is a flash puzzle game: www.miniclip.com/chasm/chasm.htm that I thought was pretty good. It is fairly short to go through once you know the solution but it takes a while to solve. The graphics are really good (hint hint) too. Although it won't help you solve it, remember that you will never be in a position that you can't solve it from where you are; you will just have to go through a few steps to "reset" everything.

You can also pay to download it from his site for 12 bucks now. I played it and it's definitely something I liked playing.

If there are any other games any Gruntzers have played and enjoyed (or not enjoyed), put what you think on this forum. Please put what the game is about, the relative category of the game (puzzles, action, strategy...) and a brief outline of what you do in it. Other information is welcome too, such as the cost, and where one could find the game.

Did Monolith stop selling Gruntz on a "send in" basis? That does take a while, but I thought it was nice when I did it if it's ok.

Speedz

Post by Gamer on Dec 20, 2003 11:50:50 GMT -8
GPF gave us the speeds of the gruntz with this post: All Gruntz take 600ms (300ms with SuperSpeed) to get from one tile to the next with the exception of: Tool/Toy/PowerUp | Move 1 Tile in | with SuperSpeed | Spring Grunt: | 800ms | 400ms | Toob Grunt(swimming): | 1000ms | 500ms | Warpstone Grunt: | 800ms | 400ms | Spy Grunt: | 500ms | 250ms | BabyWalker Grunt: | 1200ms | 600ms | Grim Reaper Grunt: | 800ms | not possible | Bomb Grunt (when running with bomb): | 200ms | 200ms |
When Springz is jumping, he movez two Tilez in the same amount of time, doubling his speed. Here are some other speeds that might interest you: Ranged Weapon | Lands in | Rock | 1000ms to destination | Gunhat | 1500ms to destination | Boomerang | 200ms per Tile | Sponge Gun | 1500ms to destination | Welder | 1500ms to destination | Wingz | 500ms per Tile |

I think "Super Gruntzer" would be a good rank for the last one, that way they all have Gruntzer in the title How about Designer, Moderator be in an "appointed, not earned" type column too?

I think like anything else, one has to use it to make the level look good graphically. I think it opens up more possibilities for graphics though. Some level sets don't have a lot of EyeCandy.

My guess is it was a easier to build the Spotlights separately -- that is exactly what UFO spotlights do.

I am not sure as it has been a while since I have tested it, but when you put a number that is outside the range, it treats it as a 0, like what team a grunt is on, or what color a goo puddle is.
