If you are using Windows ME, I know you can right click on the game or a shortcut and select properties, then Compatibility and select Compatibility options. It has worked for a lot of my games (though not all) since I play other games like Gruntz that are 6 or 7 years old.

They also may be used by the game internally.
Also keep in mind the Gruntz Engine for things like this shares itself with other games, so there may be logics in this game that have a meaning in other games. For example"DoNothing" was the EyeCandy equivalent in Claw.

How about you start a poll: Are you willing to participate in ___? Then we can see how many are interested.

Wow, sounds complex... I will have to check it out.
It is interesting you found that, how did you initially think to test it?

Well that is a clue, it's just a big one.
I am just trying to reply to everything in a general sense, as I assume there will be a *lot* of things you can do with this and it would be a waste of time to write/read every individual thing.
One example of a level that did a few "unusual" things is Decoy Ahoy... and changing the tile properties threw a lot of gruntzers for a loop even though I did put in arrows and sparkles (and put the current notes in the release post)

I think it is fair to do things like forts that look different, as long as you mention it in the notes, or put something in the level to show where it is. A good example of this is the secrets. The secret teleporter triggers are usually in places that make sense, and so are secret switches.
As far as invisible rolling balls and similar things, it sounds like that is making the game a luck-powered guess game, unless you hint to your opponent where they are really.

I plan to complete all three walkthroughs, but they do take some time, so if you are looking for one sooner than another, vote here.

I personally couldn't give a about the walkthroughs as long as people don't mind me asking questions. I always find it hard looking for the right spot in the walkthrough, and then if I go too far I spoiled the next part for myself... I wouldn't know what should be completed first, and if there aren't that many people that do care, making us choose randomly (or incorrectly) for what should be completed next harms the people who really do want to see the walkthroughs posted for the level they are working on.

Same goes with me, is there any walkthrough you would like first?

We have done contests before but I discourage from doing them because
People usually just submit levels as they create them, instead of for a specific deadline. Usually the time people have for Gruntz isn't consistent, and right now people submit them as they are done.
Also, a contest isn't a great format anyway, as we aren't in here to say someone's level is worse than someone else's
So I will just lock this thread for now -- if you want to sign up for the competition, send me a message and I will add you on here. If you have another good reason for wanting it unlocked, send me a message.

I agree with IdleAl, I think each level has different interesting ideas. I think running this as a competition would be pointless.

What I would reccommend (if there aren't a super amount of objects like 1000 or something since it may take a while then) is save as a copy of the level with ")ELETION" or something next to it, (make sure you have the original untouched!) and then just go by and delete non-essential logics. and test, then delete more and test, and so on.
I think you would breaking the "multi-grunt" purple pyramid rule by only associating one purple switch with pyramids though. Any chance of just putting an enemy grunt off somewhere to step on another purple switch?
I don't remember what was done in Temple, it was way too long ago, and I don't care much about Temple since it was an earlier "tryout" type level of mine to try out the editor. I will try to think of it if you want though if I can.

Is this where we bug GooRoo about walkthroughs? I have submitted Adventure Time recently. I am working on my levels' walkthroughs currently; they are the easiest for me to complete because I remember the level better.

There isn't a walkthrough for Bombz away to my knowledge. I am working on my smaller levels before I have to face that one The ones only on GooRoo's forum are The Rock II and 4x100 Relay because they are my most recent walkthroughs. Also, I have a few pictures from my levels that I have taken to explain parts in some levels, like in Bombz Away, I have the opening crumble maze and the later spring/normal crumble maze about halfway through.

Do we want the best level for game play or for graphics? I would assume graphics would be the only important part since most people couldn't identify the level the screen shot came from (though that might be an interesting scavenger hunt for the future!)

Yes, Paui's site has been an excellent resource to us all, so thanks for having it! I think it's good to have the walkthroughs somewhere or another though

I am having trouble with getting the object guards on the switches. How do you do that? Here is how I solved the toobz part, did I mess it up? Seemed straight forward, just press them with one grunt and move your other grunt on. The timing is VERY tight so use all your methods of quickness here! The toobs grunt will move on to the checkpoint. EDIT: For some reason my post got cut off, so I will replace it.

Hehe, maybe he's just saving up like Mikker did. His first golfz level was good! I hope to see this on the way
