I am currently on a Windows 7 computer and wanted to use a WinXP 800x600 patch, but it doesn't seem to do anything anymore on this system... I remember that there was a Vista version linked somewhere, but I can't remember where. Help, please? I have a Vista 800 patch: "REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Monolith Productions\Gruntz\1.0] "Resolution"=dword:00000002" Just grab the text between the double quotes ("). Let us know if it works for you!

I tried manually editing it in regedit. I found it under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Monolith Productions\Gruntz\1.0, but the value is already 00000002. And it doesn't work in-game.
VirtualStore is nowhere to be found under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. Do I need to put that text in a notepad file, save is as a BAT file and then run it?

Hi. First off, I have windows 7 64 bitz. I got working the game in 1024x768, 800x600 and 640x480. The trick is that 64 bit machinez read the registry key from a different location (usually). So I made some patchez regarding this problem: www.mediafire.com/download/pz8a34kbggn4b44/resolution_patch.zipIn the download you have 2 folders, one for 32 and one for 64 bit. Both contain these files: 1024x768.REG 640x480.REG 800x600.REG CD.REG: If you have used the installer of a no-cd version that I have, this reverts the 'data' location to default, thereotically you never need to run it because the cd version doesn't use this registry key.

Not working on W7 64 bits :/ (both patchez) If you are talking about installing Gruntz on a Win7 64-bit machibe, the reason is that the installer is not compatible. Installation must be done manually.

Still breathing, but there is not very much Custom Level creation going on here. Lately, the emphasis is on the DisCord site regarding a recreation of the Gruntz engine.

The more often you say that, the more I think I really should check out that "Discord" thing now, but then I always have a look at the TODO list...

Hi! I managed to install Gruntz with a no CD version using VirtualBox, but even with the patch I can't seem to change the resolution. Plus the V1.01 doesn't work because it asks me for the CD

The 1.01 update replaces the game executable, so a no-CD crack would have to be re-applied after performing the update. As for changing the resolution, there may be a few reasons why you aren't seeing a difference: - Make sure that you are checking the resolution in the actual game, not the menu. The resolution of the menu is always the same regardless of settings.
- Try running the game as administrator, since that has an effect on the part of registry that is used to load the settings.
- If you're using a 64-bit version of Windows, the registry path is also going to be different and the registry patches will not work. However, you can still change the resolution manually, using the Windows built-in regedit program. A frequent location of Gruntz settings is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Monolith Productions\Gruntz\1.0 which should contain a value called "Resolution". It can be set as 0, 1 or 2, with higher values leading to higher game resolution.
- If the location mentioned above does not contain settings for your game, that means they are saved in a different location. You may be able to find it by searching (regedit has an automatic search function) for a "Monolith Productions" or "Gruntz" folder in the registry. When you find it, set the "Resolution" value appropriately.
- After you set your resolution, do not change the settings in-game. That will, for some reason, always reset the resolution to the smallest value and you'll have to repeat the steps above. If you want, all the other settings can also be changed using regedit.

Changing the regedit did the trick for me! I had to change it INSIDE the Win XP VirtualBox tho, if anyone needs to know (: it's still not fullscreen big, but it's a big difference! Thank you so much, and thanks in general to all the mods and the founder of this amazing website, you're doing god's work! Can't wait to join the Discord (I think the invite link on this forum is expired, maybe I can request a new one once my account has been approved )

Must be some sort of glitch on part of Discord, cause the invite link is set to never expire. Anyway, I created another temporary invite link so you may also try joining from this one: discord.gg/2cVK2daG
