I agree that there's no point in designing levels if it does not give the designer satisfaction. Trying out a different mindset should be for the better.
On another note, I think it's worthy of praise that you are still trying to design something new, when so many designers have stopped designing at all.

It's been years since I played this level, so I don't remember what my solution was at all, the only thing I remember is that I was surprised because it was more difficult than what the difficulty rating would suggest. But it's totally possible that there's multiple potential solutions to the level.

Storing video walkthroughs might quickly prove problematic due to much bigger file size compared to images. I suggest limiting this to more difficult levels, such as those with Medium or higher difficulty, where the walkthrough may be of any help.

I think it's worth mentioning that last week our forum celebrated 20 years of existence! It's quite incredible if you ask me.

Welcome to our community. It's never too late to come back to Gruntz.

Battlez are random to some degree, so I imagine it would be quite difficult to reproduce on a Standard Map. But a simple Custom Map set up so that Gruntz can start walking to both forts at the same time should work.

I am experiencing similar issues after doing a hard refresh, connections to gooroosgruntz.info return a 503 error. Considering that the website is inaccessible even using unencrypted traffic, I think it may be a temporary unavailability of GoDaddy servers. The SSL Certificate is valid until January 7th.

I recommend getting the game from another source, as the probability of it appearing on Steam is pretty much zero.

I believe you can change some of the options, such as the centered task bar, in the Personalization section of the Settings app.

GoDaddy is a domain registrar and web hosting company that manages our gooroosgruntz.info site, which hosts resources used on the forum such as the Gruntz Level Editor Manual and Custom Levels. Our current plan is relatively expensive, covering various features that are not needed for the site, while at the same time lacking an easy SSL certificate solution, so we are looking for a company with a better deal to store our files.

It is a heart-wrenching news for sure, but I understand your decision.
I will begin updating my personal files backup soon. It's not suitable to replace the web host, it's just to make sure that nothing gets lost during the migration.

I think it would be a good decision. GoDaddy has gone to the dogs over the years, drastically increasing prices and demanding even more expensive subscriptions to include basic features like SSL certificates. Migrating to a different platform which provides that "out of the box" could ease things up considerably.

I made an entry in the words to change http: to https: and changed the message you read. Just as this reply would have an added 's' ... which is not there in my post ... if I had added the double slash.. Ah, sorry, I did not think of that. NOW i have something to argue that GoDaddy is the culprit, and they should fix things! I'm not so sure. From what I recall, we're not getting our SSL certificate from GoDaddy but a third party. So they wouldn't be obliged to assist us with that.

I just went to the admin page and bookmarked it! I presume that is how you got in to make the changes; you had a bookmark, and did not need to be able to see the link text. I actually managed it without a bookmark. Even with the text gone, there were narrow fields on the left part of the navigation bar which still acted as buttons. I hovered over them and checked the bottom-left corner of my web browser, to see which link goes where. I no longer seem able to edit (make changes to) the plug-ins to change instances of https:// to HTTPS:// and the only one I found with the string is for the support thread in this Forum. No point in doing that anyway, as the protocol and domain part of the URL is case insensitive. I just examined the SSL certificate for gooroosgruntz.info and noticed that it is said to have expired on 13.04.2022. That sounds very odd because that was more than a year ago and the site continued to work normally after that. I think it should be replaced with a newer certificate.

It is a strange issue, this one. It appears something automatically detects and removes the alternate text from the navigation bar if it's unaltered. Now I'm just wondering what will happen to the ellipsis when the buttons reappear.

Just a quick tour through the Forum, I see that the images that are working properly have all been copied (by Proboards staff) into Proboards storage. Pretty sure that was done by me and/or Zu during an earlier problematic period with web host access. I doubt the Proboards staff would interfere in such things. The current issue is clearly the lack of HTTP S on the gooroosgruntz.info site. Perhaps the SSL certificate was issued for the IP address instead of the domain? That would explain why it stopped working after the IP got changed.

I am currently working on a level that is about 80% filled, I just need some new ideas to finish it up. Then I agreed to help with Blaze's map, so that will be coming out eventually as well.

I think a more precise answer would be that the forum's become "read-only", as there is a lot of information and resources already available in pinned threads. It doesn't seem like much more can be added.
