Congratz on your lottery win I wonder if this result can be reliably reproduced? Like, reloading the game and repeating all actionz until it happens again? I bet that the minimap would be helpful for tracking the enemy Grunt.

It happens for me, too. The entire menu of buttons is simply missing, but the links are still there (I can hover over them and use them as normal). After checking the Developer Tools Console on Chrome, I found a ton of errors, saying this for pretty much all the icon/button graphics on the page:
Failed to load resource: net::ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH
Now, when I attempted to open the image in a new tab, I received an information that the domain (gooroosgruntz dot info in this case) uses some sort of unknown protocol. Perhaps it has a certificate, but the protocols associated with it (SSL/TLS) are outdated?

Check out Gruntz Universe, our Discord server (we have a thread about it here on this forum). Here, you'll have the chance to compete best of the best - many people from here have some actual experience with Multiplayer Battlez, which I can confirm myself (after having lost mercilessly ). Have fun!

Hello, fellow Gruntzer! I think you should visit our Discord Server ( here is a forum thread about it) to contact others of us any time - especially those Gruntzerz who worked on Gruntz remakez and/or reversing projectz (yes, reversing projectz, that's how far we went!). On the server, as well as on this forum, you can search for lots of technical details about the game of Gruntz which might help you.

Welcome back, Custom Level designing! It's been a long time... This level is kind of a sequel to my first creation, but it's named "Buy a Better Goober Straw", because it's supposed to be better than the prequel - and by "better" I mean "less frustrating". It's smaller and less timing-demanding, which makes me really happy.

I think you can use Google Docs as a good replacement to Microsoft Word, although it might be a little tedious to use: - upload a file into Google Drive, - open it with Google Docs, - select File > Download > any format you wish (PDF, HTML and Plain Text are some of the options). For this, you only need an internet browser and a Google account (I know that you own the latter). Sadly, I've never heard of any "all-at-once" converters I could recommend (and I'm afraid that's what you want to find and use).

Could you provide some examples of such games for reference? I want to see how they organized such classifications. Bonus points if they have an autosplitter! There's only one I know: www.speedrun.com/skyrim/. When viewing Main Quest Category Rules, you may read "Time without loads has to be shown with load remover on LiveSplit.". Using the LiveSplit tool seems to be a good idea, then. Unfortunately, any Autosplitter solution cannot be applied to this game, as said in this thread of speedrun.com Skyrim forum. So, I won't be hunting any bonus points.

I'm quite excited to join my mind into the brainstorm, especially that there's a chance to "make Gruntz known again". If the project goes well, speedrunners will want to search this forum for details they need. I think we should prepare some threads serving these information. What I mean is, for example, a list of known glitches (I haven't even heard of that spring routing error you mentioned) and exploits/special behaviors (crossing diagonally a pair of pyramidz). Unless there are such lists already... Then you may as well link them in the game description/rules at speedrun.com. While our forum would store information, Gruntz Discord would be a place for contacts and such thingz (well, it already is!). Probably will need some channels to manage speedrunning community better, but again... if the project goes well. As for the version of Gruntz, I know only two of them: 1.0 and 1.01 (a patch). The patched version fixes some obvious errors in Standard Levelz (you were right there), so I'd demand using it in speedruns without a second thought. I just don't remember if they're different about Secret Level access. Full playthroughs of games sometimes divide their timings into two categories: real time and time without loads. How about giving it a try? About the game timer... Well, the only way I see is testing out all the possibilities in a small, testing level (like, a 30x30 square with a Warpstone Grunt and a fort a few steps away). One could record a video and try to measure amounts of seconds/frames (in a program capable of it) instead of repeatedly mashing stopwatch buttons every so often. I think it should be prioritized, because it's a question I'd quickly ask if I were a speedrunner trying to get familiar with Gruntz. Well, that'll be it. I like technical aspects of games, but I'm poorly skilled and equipped for doing speedruns. My best experience comes from merely watching them, so don't take my words as an expertise just because I have a lot to say. Let's make it quick!

You should consider creating an account on this forum - you'll find a lot of Gruntzers like you, many of them also started young! I do wish you luck, this game is indeed worth coming back to!

I also enjoy the feeling of coming back to a game you once played many years ago... And these thoughts, like "what I was even doing then?" Happy Gruntzing, John! Good to have you back!

If I can add a personal note... I totally hate touchpads. I'm used to a regular mouse, so when trying to move a cursor around by "swinging" my finger back and forth, I just get enraged But I guess I'm a happy user of a PC who doesn't know the issue well... I use a laptop occasionally, not every day like you... No laptop, no touchpad, no problem...

I now have Mozilla Firefox installed on my XP laptop, but have run into a problem with cookies.
In order to access my email account from this XP system, I have to have cookies enabled, and Firefox on an XP machine (very old, unsupported version) does not seem to have some menu item to change the enabled/disabled setting.
This Mozilla Firefox version is 52.9.0 (32 bit) for one of you young techies.
Any ideas how to solve this dilemma? On newer versions of this browser, there are options related to "Tracking" and privacy issues in general, so if you find some safety options, you should be close. I think you should have a "three horizontal lines" button visible on top right of the Firefox window, where you can find some additional options. Finding "Options" or "Preferences" option and exploring it further should do the trick. In short - explore the options!

(...) our main menu buttons (...) are once again ... gone!
What I noticed is that if you hover over main menu somewhere, you may see the URL address of the destination at the bottom of the page (I think that all browsers come with this feature). You need to start at the left side of the menu and slowly move your mouse to the right until the URL seems good.
So even though it'll be hard to pick an option, you are actually able to target the desired one!
I hope this will help you until the images are back.
Edit: The moment I'm writing, I can see main menu buttons again (and also other images!). So I won't probably have to use that technique.

I still have a few issues with this one:
- 2 CheckPoint Flags, only one should exist
- Two Green (reusable) Wormholez that are only usable once (should be Blue)
- SecretTeleporterTrigger to gain Coinz, Question Mark Switch to acquire Warp Letter (reversed usage)
With all of the negative critiquing of (my ) early Custom Levelz (in spite of my subsequent posts about CL standards, and my intention to adhere to them in the future), it seems a bit hypocritical to consider it to not be a problem in this one. But I will distribute it as-is.
1. Never heard about any issuez with more than one Flag per Checkpoint. The number of them is just an aspect of aestheticz and Designer'z decision. 2. The gameplay itself forces those Wormholez to be used once. Also, even the Standard levelz (which seem to be the base of your thoughtz) contain such uses of Green Wormholez. See High On Sweetz, Stage 3 map - exactly the same situation for acquiring the Letter at the bottom-left; a Green used once. 3. Again, it's not necessarily a rule for Standard Levelz. There are exceptionz: Trouble In The Tropicz, Stage 3 (giving access to Toob, and then the Letter via QMS), as well as Stage 4 (building a bridge to the P Letter). So I'm certain it's up to the Designer. After some search for mentioned CL standardz, I found Your pledge to Gruntzerz and noticed the problem... There are, in fact, a few hard thingz to digest. Since the aim of most people is to achieve PERFECT score (which isn't even a thing in Easy Mode) and I made Secret Areaz an option only, Point 3 doesn't honestly make much sense to me. Each Secret Area is separated from the other and brings a prize to the solver - nothing more needed. There's also no chance of encountering an "empty" Secret in Easy Mode, as both Areaz contain Coinz (or give access to them somehow). My intention was to give up the old, rude way of Designing and add some quality to what I make. Look what I've done Now, I just need a balance between applying new, clever ideaz and obeying certain rulez (which I'll try to be aware of in the future). Thankz to everyone for advice anyway.

The new version has a major problem: retaining the Purple Boxing Glovez Grunt does not work! When the Dumb Chaser reaches the arrow near Purple, Dumb gets socked into the arrow on the diagonal and is stuck ... or squashed. Puzzle unsolvable. That's why I had to eliminate the Purple, so he doesn't get into the business. The Rolling Ball is guaranteed to roll through the Tile the Purple Boxer is standing on and kill him after he pushes the Dumb onto the maze. If the Purple still lives, then the "execution ball" doesn't roll as it should... Look at this area just after the level is loaded, and please tell me if you see: 1. the Purple pushing another Grunt onto the maze, 2. the Purple being squashed by the Roling Ball, 3. that Ball being broken at the hill.

This file is too large to display in a post, so click on the link Help???. Well, that's an old thread over there. But this link sends me into 404 page. Wasn't your intention to have the link redirect the user to hintz/HelpBoxez.htmor eventually to hintz/HelpBoxez.html(probably) an updated version?

I think the "MegaCollab" entry was specifically created so that the indices don't have to be cluttered with 8 different names. Also, in case another project of this caliber happens in the future (with different participants), the same page could be shared between them. I think the list from the thread's first post is sufficient. By the way, maybe you should log in to your Discord more often. I didn't mean "cluttering", I wanted to suggest making some description of that MegaCollab "pseudodesigner", as the name itself doesn't tell much about the creatorz. And I thought that indicez seem a good place to such description. Generally, I want MegaCollab Designerz' namez to be listed somewhere at the Forum. Checking Discord now.
