I agree with Teri, Riven. You do lead a rather full and interesting life. BTW, I was quite impressed with UConn's women's basketball team. They have accomplished some rare feats, indeed.

Bea, I'm glad you've accepted duties as a global moderator. That will give us an almost 24 hour a day presence here. I think Gruntz was a victim of an oversaturated market. When Gruntz came out, there were probably just too many other titles out. Unless you have a really good marketing concept or had a really good marketing team, it's very hard for a good game like Gruntz to get noticed. Some of the game reviews of Gruntz that I've seen were not always kind to the game, but then again, what do critics know? Given the direction Monolith's taken since Gruntz came out, I think they either realized what a tough industry game publishing is, or game publishing was merely a way to get their foot in the door of the game engine industry. After their game engine got noticed by Microsoft, then game publishing became a thing of the past for Monolith.

What Teri said goes for me, too. You deserve a big THANK YOU from the Gruntzing community for all the work that you put in helping GooRoo get this forum up and running.

GooRoo, you've done an absolutely fantastic job with both the Gruntz Fanz and this new forum despite the most recent setbacks.

Perhaps a more pertinent question is: What type of monitor do you have, CRT (old-style bulky job) or LCD (newer style flat screen)?

Merry Christmas, fellow gruntzerz! These are "good tidings of great joy which are to all people. For unto you is born...in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord...Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men." Luke 2:10-14 paraphrased.

yep the server was down for some hourz... Given the heat wave in Southern California and the strain it is putting on the power generation grid, I would say that we are likely to experience similar outages again in the relatively near future. You can't run servers w/o electricity!

Battlez

The Statz page tells you: - Which(if any) enemy fortz you (or the enemy) conquered;
- How many enemiez you've killed;
- How many gruntz you've created;
- And how many Toolz, Toyz, Powerupz and Cursez you got.
Often, the player is not conquered by AIz, and so he's the winner (the king the appears twice in the Statz), regardless if he got more itemz, or not. If that comez to happen, though, the winner is usually the one who conquered the player. In Single-player Battlez mode (you v. the AI'z) the King always represents the human Player. The King'z Statz are always shown in the first column. The number of flagz at the top of any column, whether the King or another AI, represents the number of and specifically which fortz that player conquered. The Time line gives the elapsed time of the entire battle. And in addition to listing the total number of toolz, toyz, powerupz and curzez each player used in the Battle, the Statz also shows, by way of the appropriate image, which specific tool, toy, etc. were most commonly used by each player. For example, if your gruntz used a total of 3 powerupz, but 2 of them were the invulnerability powerup, then the invulnerability powerup image will be displayed. If no powerupz were collected, then the default image would be displayed alongside the 0.

Not to mention that my sigtag contained an image in it that had also been hosted on Neronhosting. I have since edited my profile to remove the image, and hopefully give the speed a little more oomph.

How did all the moderators become moderators? Surely there is a reason why they are moderators because I don't think you just chose them for no reason. Some of us-- Bea, IdleAl (though he's inactive right now, not of his own choice), Gamer, and myself--have been around since the game was actively supported by Monolith on their own forum. We were probably chosen because we demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the game--especially (at that time) of the basic levels, and because we demonstrated a high degree of willingness to help others with their questions. Others, like Gaby and BattlezEm, came around later but were chosen as there was need, again probably for the same reasons.

Yeah, I think the URL has changed. I was just there a month or so ago and found that the whole site had been re-done and rearranged. So, I guess an update of the link is in order.

That's not about custom level,it just about the game. It won't open normal standard level! As a suggestion, try doing a scan of your system for a virus. There is a virus that is going around that puts a file labeled dl.exe in virtually any any program file in your system, especially the ones that you use most often. I know; I had that virus recently on my system . It infected my Gruntz folder, causing it to either crash after starting a game if it started at all. It also infected Firefox, causing it to quit navigating to websites, and it infected my video drivers, causing Windows to stop loading at startup (I had to go and do a system restore in order to get back up and running). You could also try un-installing and re-installing Gruntz in the event that your system is clean. Although you'll have to re-install the patchez, you won't have to re-do all the standard levels nor download all the custom levels again.
