The WarpstonePad logic works just like a switch. I use the Checkpoint Pads. Here's the logic information that you need:
Logic: WarpStonePad Image Set: GAME_WAPWORLDONLY_SWITCH
Score: 0, 1, 2, or 3
Object Flags Dialog box: No Draw checked
This logic does work. I have taken one of the Battlez levelz that came with the editor (Battlez Sample 1) and modified it using this logic. However, I have only had mixed success using it, primarily due to the fact that I have been merely been playing against the computer players. If we could get the multi-player option to work better, the AWC would probably work better.

Thanks for the info, Kevin. I played around with this last night a good bit, but couldn't get it to work--obviously because I had the wrong logic name, plus nothing in the Score box to indicate to which player the pads belonged. It's also going to change where and how many pads I put down. I'll let you know how this works.

Mmmmmhmmmm...I will have to try this out. I already have several versions of one of the retail Battlez levels (Rumble in the Rockz) in which I have modified or added thingz. In one version, I added the timer with a time limit of 60 minutes, so that not only does the player have to wipe out all the other fortressez, but he has only 60 minutes to do so. If he fails to take over all the other fortressez withing the set time, it's goodbye to his king. But this, this latest revelation about Gruntz sounds like it combines all the good things about Gruntz--a Questz-type of level ("Find that Warpstone!) with an all-out battle royale from the get-go (Final Battle, anyone?). Talk about frenetic. This is definitely an interesting turn of events. "Must get to...the....control panel!"

...to DirectX 9.0c. Yes, folks there is a new upgrade to DirectX (which is Windows programming that multimedia applications like Gruntz uses). DirectX 9.0c was just released by Microsoft on 8/4/04 and is available for download now on the Microsoft web site. To get there, press Start, then scroll up the menu to Windows Update and click on that. When the Microsoft web page loads, hover your mouse pointer over the link in the upper right-hand corner labeled "All Products." A menu will drop down and click on the ")ownloads" link. When the new page loads, scroll down to the "Featured Downloads" box on the right hand side of the page, and click on the ")irectX 9.0c End-user Runtime" link. It will take you to the DirectX page where you can download DirectX 9.0c.
Why should I download and install DirectX 9.0c? DirectX 9.0c contains the latest DirectX components available, which some of the newer games and other applications are using. It enables your video and sound hardware to work properly with your applications. When I installed DirectX 9.0c, it cleared up some problems that I was having with some web sites, including this one.
How can I tell which version of DirectX I have installed? Press Start, then Run. In the box, type ")xdiag" (w/o the quotes) or press the down arrow and select it if it is available to start the DirectX diagnostic tool. At the bottom of the next window, the tool will tell you which version you are running. If you are running anything less than DirectX 9.0 (Gruntz originally came with DirectX 6.0 software), I highly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version. If you're running DirectX 9.0, 9.0a, or 9.0b, upgrading to the latest version is still a good idea, but less critical.

We must be careful, kids are evil! That's not the reason, Bjarni. The reason is that cyberspace has too many freaks, kooks, and wierdo's populating it who are looking to exploit young children. And unfortunately, it is harder to lock them up and throw away the keys than it is to keep the youngsters off of forums like this one. So we opt for the easier solution.

I, along with GooRoo and Bea, am sorry that we have to delete your account with us and ban you from this forum. It is too bad that we have to do this, but thanks to all the wierdos, kooks, and freaks who haunt the Internet looking for young, innocent kids, we have no choice but to abide by the laws and rules that have been set down to protect our young people. Please understand that this is not about you, but is for your own safety. : First, ironic, isn't it, for us to be required to kick someone like ")ude" off, yet he may freely use the Monolith Gruntz forum which is totally unmoderated and most any yokel can post freely there and spout any kind of garbage and filth almost without fear of consequence.
Second, it is also rather ironic, in light of this particular situation and the reasons for it, that today our United States Supreme Court stated that a law designed to keep Internet porn peddlers from putting their junk where our children could easily access it was "probably" unconstitutional. I don't think they actually made a ruling on the law, just offered an opinion. Where has reason, sanity, precedent, and rule of law gone in our system of jurisprudence? [End of editorial comment--I'm getting down off my soapbox now]

It's OK here in the Eastern time zone. I was just looking at that and realized you just may be able to do away with the message in the news scroller about Proboards having not adjusted to Daylight Savings Time--excepting, of course, that our messages still have a time stamp on them.

I have updated my video drivers NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 400 from 61.77_win2kxp to 71.84_win2kxp When i start gruntz it stops when the level come on the screen ? So i can't update the video drivers . I need the new drivers for a other game but i can't miss Gruntz That doesn't make sense. Updating the video drivers normally should not cause a game that ran before to fail to run now. Does the game's main menu load but when you attempt to load a level, it fails? Or does the game fail to start at all? What operating system are you using, ie Win98, WinME, WinXP? Are you experiencing any other problems, either with the system as a whole or with individual specific programs? The answers to these questions may be the key to solving your problem. Also, I was just informed that there may be some problems with NVIDIA's 7x.xx series drivers. You may need to contact NVIDIA for technical support if that is the case.

Hmmph! The pattern fits. A start-up (or upstart however you want to look at it) web-hosting company offers "low-cost" web hosting service, oversells its ability to handle the traffic, begins to experience increasing service interruptions, will not answer questions from clients about the service disruptions, eventually goes down completely, temporarily coming online for a few days to allow clients to retrieve files from the server before going offline permanently. I saw this happen a few years ago over in another forum. Made a lot of people very angry. I'd be very interested to know who the "owner" of Neron Hosting is.
Hard to believe, though, that with all the thousands of websites on the Net, there's not one web-hosting service that can meet our needs.

The forum is so slow that is nearly unbearable (or maybe it'z my computer). Have you modified your profile to the Basic skin as opposed to the Default skin? You can cut way on the load time by doing so while Neron Hosting is on the fritz.

Well, it appears that Neron Hosting is down again and probably will remain down all weekend. I noticed last night and then again this morning that most of the images and backgrounds were failing to load, and what was loading was loading extremely slowly. Hmmph! Another major outage. Funny thing, though. I did a Google search on Neron Hosting and came away with two web page addresses for it -- www.info and www.neronhost.com. One page was up (www.neronhost) and the other down (www.neronhosting) Are these two addresses for the same web host service? If so, could they be in the process of migrating to new servers? Could this be why we are experiencing these major outages?

Hopefully, the problems here will clear up shortly. The Monolith Gruntz forum has been down for nearly a week. I was just over there now, and it's back up and running.

Sorry, selt is not a word, not even as a form of the word sell. English does not always work that way. I consulted an online dictionary and it came back with no entry for selt. Sorry, try again.

Sorry, Bjarni. First, I don't think "selt" is a word, and second, if it is a word you didn't supply a dictionary definition of the word. GooRoo, rule clarification, please. One of the rulez stated that 3- or 5-letter words may only exist for one turn. Do I understand correctly that one may add or delete a letter from the last word played for a legitimate turn, and then the next player to play must return the word to its original length by adding or deleting a letter?

I took my wife to the local hospital emergency room Sunday afternoon, because she was having trouble breathing. After four+ hours there, a doctor made the diagnosis of "Intrinsic (aka 'Adult onset') Asthma", and she was assisted with a 'breathing treatment' that greatly relieved her difficulty. The treatment made a change from 88% efficiency to almost 100% (which didn't last, unfortunately), so they really helped. I just wanted to let everyone know about this in case I am not very active on the Forum for some length of time. I will try to be as active as possible, but absences such as this one of some 30 hours may re-occur. With Bea, FriedGruntzaholic, Gamer and IdleAl around, there should not be any problems ... there just may not be as many quick solutions as when I am able to be on-line almost all of my waking hours. (I usually remain signed on all day long, and drop by the computer from time-to-time and hit the 'refresh'' button to see if there is anything to do.) Gaaaaack! I can certainly empathize with you, GooRoo. My wife, mother, and eldest son all have asthma, and all have developed it fairly recently. You can be certain that we will hold the Fort here and keep the DisGruntled at bay. Now where did I leave that sponge gun? And where'z my Beach Ball?

So sorry to hear that you've been ill, Jo. I certainly hope it's nothing too serious (anything requiring hospitalization is serious ). We miss seeing you around the forums. And please, do try to let us know if you will be absent for an extended period of time. That way we can keep you in our thoughts while you are gone. But we won't be upset if letting us know that you'll be gone slips your mind. Your health is more important than us.

Does that mean I need to format the computer? I second that definite NO!. Definitely not! What you or your brother needs to do is download one or more spyware detection programs and run them on a regular to keep your computer free of spyware.
